Dear Holy Hill Area School District Families,
When I joined HHASD in July 2024, the Summer Olympics were taking place and many of our early conversations with staff centered around resilience, growth, and what it takes to stay committed to a goal. We talked about how Olympians train for years for moments that last seconds and how the real story is in the daily discipline behind the scenes.
Now, after watching Wisconsin’s own speedskater Jordan Stolz bring home multiple medals at the Winter Olympics, that message feels even more powerful. His success wasn’t built in a single race. It was built in the quiet, repetitive, often unseen work of showing up, refining skills, learning from setbacks, and pushing forward anyway.
And while our students aren’t training on Olympic ice, they are doing their own kind of daily training right here at school. March can feel like a long stretch of the year. The excitement of the holidays has passed, spring hasn’t quite arrived, and routines can feel heavy. This is exactly when perseverance matters most. It’s when students lean into “yet,” revisit goals, and choose to keep going - even when something feels hard. That steady effort is where real growth happens!
That same commitment to growth guided another important step for our district. In February, our Board of Education approved our new K–8 English Language Arts resources for implementation in 2026–27. This was the result of months of piloting, reflection, and collaboration by our teachers and instructional specialists. Their behind-the-scenes dedication mirrors the very perseverance we hope to instill in our students.
As we head toward parent-teacher conferences and spring break at the end of March, I encourage you to ask your child: What is something you’re working hard on right now? Celebrate the effort! Celebrate the progress! Those daily choices to stick with it - in classrooms, at home, on the ice, or anywhere in between - shape confidence and character in lasting ways. Thank you for your continued partnership as we help every student Inspire. Persevere. Grow.
Together We Can,
Dr. Katy Williams
