A nutritious breakfast helps students start the day energized, focused, and ready to learn. Research shows that students who eat breakfast are better prepared to concentrate, participate in class, and perform their best throughout the school day. Plus, every breakfast is packed with the nutrients growing bodies need to stay healthy and active.
Convenient, nutritious, and affordable—school breakfast is one of the easiest ways to give your child a great start every morning. Join us and make breakfast part of a successful school day!

Healthy Snacks, Lunches & Classroom Treats
The District encourages students to make healthy choices by enjoying nutritious snacks and meals during the school day. Families are encouraged to pack healthy snacks and lunches that help support student learning, focus, and overall well-being.

Please do not send soda or carbonated beverages with your child. When planning special occasion treats for the classroom, please check with your child’s teacher in advance for any classroom guidelines or requirements.

To help maintain a safe and consistent school environment, outside food may not be brought to school for anyone other than your child’s personal breakfast or lunch unless prior authorization has been provided by the District Administrator.

Convenient, Family-Based Meal Accounts
A food service meal account will be created for each family. Our meal accounting system is a convenient pre-payment system that requires families to maintain a positive balance.

Each student will receive a unique five-digit identification number to use when purchasing meals. This number will remain assigned to your child through 8th grade, allowing for a seamless experience each school year.

When a purchase is made, the cost will automatically be deducted from the family meal account balance. Families can monitor account activity, view purchase history, and make payments through Skyward Family Access.

To help manage your account, families may enable food service email notifications through Skyward Family Access. An automated reminder will be sent when the account balance falls below $10.00, indicating that payment is needed to continue maintaining a positive balance.

Families may conveniently make online payments for Food Service accounts, school fees, co-curricular fees, and other district-related expenses through the Skyward Family Access portal. The district utilizes e~Funds for Schools to provide a secure and convenient online payment option.

Meal Payments Made Easy
Families may send breakfast, lunch, and milk payments to school at any time throughout the school year. Sending a payment directly to school is a convenient option and allows families to avoid the processing fees associated with online payments.
For your convenience, only one check per family is needed, regardless of which HHASD school your child(ren) attends.
When sending a payment to school, please be sure to include your child’s first and last name on the outside of the envelope so we can apply the payment to the correct meal account.
Checks should be made payable to Holy Hill Area School District (HHASD).

Families are encouraged to apply for the Meal Assistance Program if they believe they may qualify. Applications are accepted throughout the entire school year; however, a new application must be completed and approved each school year before benefits can begin.

Applications are available online or families may request a paper copy from the school office. Once an application has been processed, eligible families may receive breakfast at no cost or at the reduced price of $0.30, and lunch at no cost or at the reduced price of $0.40.

Meal assistance benefits apply to one complete breakfast and one complete lunch per student, per day. Even if your child does not currently purchase school breakfast or lunch, families who believe they may qualify are strongly encouraged to complete an application. Participation helps our district identify families who may benefit from additional educational programs and funding opportunities. In addition, eligible families may qualify for waivers of certain school fees.

Applying is an important step in ensuring your child and our school community have access to the resources and support available.
 

Important: Late Arrival Lunch Information
Accurate daily lunch counts are essential to ensure we prepare enough meals for every student who would like to enjoy a hot lunch each day.
If your child will be arriving late to school and would like a hot lunch, please contact the school office by 8:15 a.m. Providing this information on time allows our Food Service team to prepare the correct number of meals and helps ensure all students have access to the lunch they would like.
